Joanna Zhou
DirectorJoanna has over 12 years of experience acting for clients on a range of matters concerning climate change and energy law and policy. Prior to joining Pollination, Joanna was a trusted legal advisor in the energy and carbon sectors advising developers, offtakers, financiers and corporates on renewable energy and carbon projects. Joanna has also advised on matters concerning international law including the Paris Agreement. In the lead up to COP21, Joanna was an advisor to the Republic of the Marshall Islands. She was also the legal advisor to the We Mean Business Coalition at COP21, working to translate ambitious private sector asks for inclusion into the Paris Agreement. Joanna has a Masters of Law from Columbia University, specialising in climate change and energy law, and has been recognised as a James Kent Scholar. She was also a 2016 finalist for the Thomson Reuters Trustlaw Lawyer of the Year Award in recognition of her work on the Paris Agreement.
